SACRAMENTO, CA - Clemson women's track and field standout Gisele Oliveira capped her illustrious Lady Tiger career with a second-place finish and mark of 45'0.5" in the triple jump on Saturday night at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. The senior from Porto Alegre, Brazil, recorded her third consecutive top-three finish in the event at the national meet with this year's runner-up appearance. She placed third in 2003 and 2004, after earning All-America honors with a seventh-place finish in the triple jump as a freshman in 2002.

Oliveira concludes her career as the Lady Tigers' most decorated triple jumper, and as the Clemson record holder in the event both the indoor and outdoor. She was the 2005 NCAA Indoor Champion, and earned five other All-America certificates over her career. In 2003, Oliveira became the first Lady Tiger to earn the national honor in the long jump and triple jump at the same meet. Her five All-America honors ranks in a tie for fourth for most such honors won during a Lady Tiger career. Earlier this season, Oliveira set the Clemson, ACC and South American record in the triple jump with her career-best mark of 45'9".
