CLEMSON, SC - The Clemson women's track and field team wrapped up the final day of competition at the 2005 Clemson Relays with five first-place finishes, and seven more performances that listed among the top-five marks in their respective events. One of the Lady Tigers' highlights was the 4x100m relay team of Silja Ulfarsdottir, Randi Hinton, Jessica Cousins and Sierra Hill, who qualified for the regional championships and won the event with a time of 45.46. They were the second NCAA Regional qualifiers for Clemson, as Sara Young qualified for the region meet in the pole vault on Friday evening. Other day two champions included Polly Hardy in the 100m hurdles, Anni Korhonen in the high jump, Renata Miyamoto in the triple jump and the Lady Tigers' 4x200m relay team of Ulfarsdottir, Hinton, Hill and Cousins.
On the track, Danielle Whaley led the Lady Tigers in the 100m with a time of 12.41. In the 100m hurdles, freshman Polly Hardy clocked a 13.97 to lead the field, while Renata Miyamoto placed third with her time of 14.16. Hardy also competed in the 400m hurdles, crossing the finish line in 1:03.56 to place fourth. As mentioned before, the Lady Tigers' 4x100m relay and 4x200m relay teams of Ulfarsdottir, Hinton, Hill and Cousins captured those event titles with times of 45.46 and 1:37.76, respectively. In the 4x400m relay, Sybil Sobanjo, Tia Perry, LaToya Woodberry and Jessica Earp combined to place sixth with a time of 4:03.09.
