Sacramento, CA - Clemson junior Jason Bell qualified for the finals of the triple jump at the NCAA Track & Field Championships from the A.G. Spanos Sports Complex on the Sacramento State campus Friday. The Warner Robins, GA native was the Tigers' lone competitor on the third day of competition. He will take part in Saturday's final as one of 12 competitors. The triple jump finals are scheduled for 3:30 PM (Eastern time). CBS will televise the NCAA Championships live from 3:30-6:00 in the East. Travis Padgett (100m) and Itay Magidi (3000m steeplechase) will also compete Saturday for the Tiger track & field team.

Bell hit a mark of 51'1.75" on his third attempt and finished 11th overall in the qualifying round. This is Bell's second straight appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, but will be his first trip to the finals of the triple jump. Bell is Clemson's all-time leader in the outdoor triple jump with a mark of 51'10", which he set two weeks ago at the NCAA East Regional.
