CLEMSON, SC - The Clemson men's track and field team completed its regular season competition on Saturday at the Georgia Tech Invitational. The Tigers were led by Michael Bolling, Ryan Fenton, Scott Kautz and the 4x100m relay team. Michael Bolling ran a season-best and regional qualifying time of 46.66 in the 400m dash. Scott Kautz was the runner-up among collegiate competitors in the 400m hurdles with a time of 50.96. Derek Gilson was the top collegian in the shot put, recording a throw of 57'2.75". Ryan Fenton recorded a personal-best time of 9:02.01, finishing third among collegiate runners. The Tigers' 4x100m relay team of Larry Griffin, Tye Hill, Ronald Richards and Airese Currie ran a season-best time of 39.71, improving on their previous regional qualifying time.

In the 100m dash preliminaries, Larry Griffin posted a time of 10.60, Robert Ibeh ran a 10.79 and Ronald Richards finished in 11.02. Tye Hill was the Tigers' top finisher in the 200m, crossing the line in 21.30. Robert Ibeh clocked a 21.46, Airese Currie recorded a time of 21.50, Lydell Perry posted a time of 21.54, Warren Eure finished in 21.86 and Darius Acker ran a 22.07. Marquis Andrews competed in the 400m dash, finishing in 47.86. Matt Clark improved on his season-best time with a mark of 3:49.66, while Derrick Wyatt completed the race in 3:50.91. Roy Cheney advanced to the finals of the 110m hurdles with his time of 14.04 in the trials, then placed sixth overall in 14.12. Lydell Perry also competed in the 110m hurdles preliminaries, finishing in 14.21. Rashad Gardner posted a time of 53.81 in the 400m hurdles.
 

 

Terrance McDaniel was the top collegian in the high jump, clearing 6'10.75", and Ryan Hunter recorded a mark of 15'5" in the pole vault to finish eighth. McDaniel also competed in the long jump, posting a mark of 23'10", and George Kitchens jumped 23'8.25" in the event. Derek Gilson recorded a mark of 165'7" in the discus throw to place fourth, while Danny Alge posted a season-best mark of 161'0", finishing eighth. In the hammer throw, Alge recorded a mark of 176'11". Matt Lombarid posted a season-best of 56'1.75" in the shot put, placing third.
