Atlanta, GA - The Clemson men's track & field team competed over the weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational. Three student-athletes posted regional-qualifying marks on Saturday.

Mitch Greeley tied for first in the pole vault with ACC outdoor champion Matt Hurley of Florida State. The pair cleared 17'0.75", which is a regional-qualifying mark as well.

Ryan Koontz set a personal best in the 110m high hurdles Friday afternoon. The senior decathlete had a time of 14.31, just one hundredth of a second shy of a regional-qualifying time. He placed fourth in his prelim, but did compete in the final. He did not improve on his time.

Cowin Mills came as close to qualifying for regionals in the 400m dash. The junior from Elkins Park, PA had a time of 47.21, which was easily a personal best. His time was also just one hundredth of a second shy of the regional-qualifying standard.

Will Noble had a time of 4:00.16 in the 1500m and was ninth in the second flight. Bryce Iverson was fifth in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:13.86. Sam Bryfczynski placed eighth in the 5000m run with a time of 15:09.91.

Andrew Porter improved on his personal best in the intermediate hurdles with a time of 51.36. He finished first in his section. Travis Swaggard (54.26) also competed in the event.

Jason Bell was second in the triple jump and first among collegiate competitors. The senior from Warner Robins, GA hit a mark of 50'0.75", which is another regional-qualifying mark for the school's outdoor record-holder in the event.
 

 

The Tigers return to action May 25-26 for the East Region Championships in Gainesville, FL.
