Clemson, SC - Clemson and Notre Dame, both upset winners in the second round of the NCAA Men's soccer tournament, will meet in the third round of the event. The site and date of the game will be announced on Wednesday.

Clemson defeated NC State in Raleigh, NC by a 3-0 score on Tuesday, while the Irish upset third seeded Indiana in Bloomington by a 2-0 score Tuesday evening. Clemson had lost to NC State 2-0 in regular season, while Notre Dame had lost to Indiana by a 3-0 score in South Bend earlier in the year.

Clemson enters the third round of the tournament with a 13-5-3 record, but Trevor Adair's team has a 9-2-2 record over the last 13 games, all since October 1. Notre Dame has a 12-7-3 record and defeated Western Illinois in the first round of the tournament.

This is the second meeting between Clemson and Notre Dame in men's soccer, the first since September 9, 2001 when Clemson won 4-0 in the Furman Invitational in Greenville, SC. That was the last time Notre Dame and Clemson met in any sport. The two schools have met in eight different sports over the years and the Irish have a 15-7 lead in the previous head to head meetings combined.
