Clemson Women's Track And Field Team Honored At Banquet

April 23, 2001

CLEMSON, S.C. -- The 2000-01 Clemson women's track and field team was honored at a banquet at the Madren Center on Monday evening. The recipients of each of the following awards were chosen by the coaching staff.

Senior Mandy McLane, from Windermere, FL, received the Lady Tiger Track and Field Academic Acheivement Award while fellow senior Cydonie Mothersill (Cayman Islands) won the Lady Tiger Track and Field Most Valuable Performer award. Shannon Murray, a sophomore from Decatur, GA, received the Lady Tiger Track and Field Most Improved Award, and freshman Katie Pickett (Maryville, TN) was honored as the Lady Tiger Track and Field Rookie of the Year. Shekera Weston, a senior from Ft. Campbell, KY, received the Lady Tiger Track and Field Dedication Award, an honor given to the student-athlete who demonstrates dedication, dependability, consistency, an excellent work ethic and a positive attitude on and off the track.

Junior Jamine Moton (Glassboro, NJ) claimed the only award selected by the members of the Lady Tiger track and field team - the Lady Tiger Strength and Conditioning Dedication Award. That honor is given to the student-athlete whose performance in competition is directly related to their dedication and consistency in their strength and conditioning program.

The Clemson women's track and field team continues its outdoor season this weekend at the Penn Relays.
