CLEMSON, SC - The Clemson men's track and field team competed at the Penn Relays held this weekend in Philadelphia, PA. The Tigers posted five top 20 finishes and were led by Sultan Tucker's performance in the 110m hurdles.

Tucker, a senior from Glassboro, NJ, finished second in the 110m hurdles with a provisional qualifying time of 13.81. He qualified for the finals with a time of 13.82, winning his heat. Todd Matthews also competed in the 110m hurdles and posted a time of 14.36 in the preliminaries.

The Tigers' shuttle hurdle relay team of Tucker, Ian Potter, Shauntae Lovings and Matthews recorded a season-best time of 55.10 and finished second overall. Tony Washington posted a 17th place finish in the 400m hurdle finals with a time of 52.77, and Andy Giesler was 22nd in the discus throw with a mark of 150'2" (45.78m). Doug Ameigh cleared 6'9" in the high jump to finish tied for eighth while Kai Maull finished 20th in the long jump with a mark of 22'5 ²" (6.85m). Clemson's 4x400m relay team of Jacey Harper, Otto Spain, Matt Thompson and Ato Modibo finished third in its section with a time of 3:09.15 while the 4x100m relay team of Larry Griffin, Modibo, Harper and Spain posted a time of 40.79 in the preliminaries.

Clemson's men's track and field team will compete at the Stanford Invitational and the Georgia Invitational next Friday and Saturday.
