Final Stats

MAGNOLIA, Ark.--Senior Laura Washington (Seattle, Wash./Garfield HS) pounded 23 kills and hit .400 to help the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs rally for a 3-2 Gulf South Conference win at Southern Arkansas Sunday afternoon.

The Lady Bucs (14-14, 3-8 GSC West) lost the first two games 30-21 and 30-26 and appeared to be on the ropes, but they rallied to win the final three games, and the match, 30-21, 30-12, and 15-11.

Sophomore Jenna Cherry (Covington, La./Covington HS) added 18 kills and 14 digs, while senior Krista Gyarmati (Phoenix, Ariz./Shadow Mountain HS) had 11 kills and 18 digs. Senior setter Lauren Amundson (Stanwood, Wash./Stanwood HS) posted 55 assists and 13 digs, while sophomore libero Bridget Buckley (Parker, Colo./Chaparral HS) recorded a team-high 26 digs.

Kristina Daily led three Lady Muleriders in kills with 13. Brandi Beeson had 12 kills and Shelly Jones 10 for SAU (9-15, 2-9). Mallory McKee had a match-high 27 digs, while Jones added 20.

The Lady Bucs will finish their GSC West schedule Friday night at Arkansas-Monticello, and they will finish their season at Canale Arena Oct. 31 against Lyon.
