Final Stats

MEMPHIS--Despite a career-high 13 blocks by sophomore right-side hitter Hanna Orendorff (Renton, Wash./Liberty HS), the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs dropped a 3-1 Gulf South Conference West Division match to Arkansas Tech.

The Lady Bucs (10-13, 0-5 GSC West) won the first game 30-28, but Arkansas Tech (15-8, 3-1) won the remaining three 30-21, 30-22, and 30-27.

Junior middle blocker Aubrey Pancratz (Chandler, Ariz./Corona del Sol HS) led the Lady Bucs with 13 kills and finished second with six blocks. As a team, CBU combined for 19 total blocks. Orendorff had two block solos and 11 block assists, and she added four kills.

Freshman right-side hitter Danielle Gennett (Memphis, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) added 11 kills, while sophomore setter Brenna Blackburn (Sandy, Utah/Brighton HS) collected 36 assists. Five Lady Bucs were in double-figures in digs, led by 18 from junior outside hitter Jenna Cherry (Covington, La./Covington HS). Junior libero Bridget Buckley (Parker, Colo./Chaparral HS) added 16, while freshman outside hitter Michelle Hein (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol HS) had eight kills to go with 14 digs. Gennett and Blackburn added 11 digs each.

Four Golden Suns each finished in double digits in kills and digs. Ashlynn Hamrick led the way with 14 kills, while Ashley Camp posted a match-best 34 digs. Setter Kayla Allison collected 49 assists.

The Lady Bucs will step out of GSC West action Thursday night as they travel to Batesville, Ark., to face Lyon at 7 p.m. They travel to Arkansas-Monticello Saturday at 1 p.m. CBU will be back at Canale Arena twice next week. Thursday, Oct. 11, they host Henderson State at 6 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 13, they host North Alabama at 6 p.m.
