Bridget Buckley set a new school record for aces in a match and helped the Lady Bucs tie a conference mark in a 3-0 sweep of Lane tonight.

Memphis, TN -- The Christian Brothers University Lady Buccaneer volleyball team tied a Gulf South Conference record for service aces (35) in a match and defeated Lane College, 3-0 tonight at Canale Arena.

CBU (16-5) freshman Bridget Buckley came one ace shy of tying a conference mark, but set the team record with 13 aces tonight. She started game two with 11 straight aces. The Lady Bucs' 35 aces on the night topped the previous team record of 15, set twice in 2003.

Lane (2-7) had two blocks and three digs from Angela Webb.

Buckley switched from libero to setter in game two and led the Lady Bucs with 16 assists. Aubrey Pancratz had 12 kills and hit for .562 on the night. Laura Washington had five kills and no errors for an .833 attack average in just one game. Hattie Schnacke hit .429 with eight kills and Lauren Amundson had 14 assists. Krista Gyarmati had seven aces and four digs. Jenna Cherry and Stephanie Parker had five aces each.
 

 

The Lady Bucs will get back into GSC action when they travel to Henderson State on Saturday and Southern Arkansas on Sunday. Both matches begin at 1 p.m.
