Final Stats

          MEMPHIS--In a match that featured 26 ties and 15 lead changes, visiting Harding squeaked past the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs in five games, winning 30-27, 28-30, 30-21, 27-30, 15-12 in the Gulf South Conference West Division opener for both schools Tuesday night at Canale Arena.

          An ace by freshman Hanna Orendorff (Renton, Wash./Liberty HS) gave the Lady Bucs (7-6, 0-1) a 5-4 lead in the fifth game, but Harding (9-3, 1-0) answered with three straight points and never relinquished the lead again.

          Senior Laura Washington (Seattle, Wash./Garfield HS) had 21 kills and hit .606 for the Lady Bucs.  Orendorff and sophomore Jenna Cherry (Covington, La./Covington HS) had 13 kills each, while sophomore Aubrey Pancratz (Chandler, Ariz./Corona del Sol HS) added 10 kills as she hit .444.  Pancratz tied her career high and set a team season-high with 11 blocks, while Orendorff added 10 blocks and Washingon nine.  As a team, the Lady Bucs posted a season-best 22.5 blocks.

          Senior Krista Gyarmati (Phoenix, Ariz./Shadow Mountain HS) led the defensive effort with 19 digs.  Cherry added 15, while sophomore libero Bridget Buckley (Parker, Colo./Chaparral HS) and senior Lauren Amundson (Stanwood, Wash./Stanwood HS) added 13 each.  Amundson had 55 assists as well for the Lady Bucs, who hit .240 as a team.

          Manuela Nesheva had match highs of 23 kills and six aces for Harding, while Katelin Parks had 20 kills.  Harding libero Meredith Rosenbaum had a match-high 27 digs, while setter Leah Tepe had 61 assists and 10 digs.

          The Lady Bucs will make their first GSC road trip this weekend, when they visit Arkansas Tech Friday night and Ouachita Baptist Saturday afternoon.  The Lady Bucs' next home match is set for Saturday, Sept. 23, against Henderson State at 1 p.m.
