MEMPHIS--Visiting Montevallo jumped out to an early lead against the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs in the first two games and held on for a 3-1 victory Saturday afternoon at Canale Arena.
          The Lady Falcons (1-1) led 13-5 in game one before winning 30-26 and 20-6 in game two before winning 30-21.  The Lady Bucs (1-2) won a tight game three 30-25 to pull within 2-1.  CBU led 17-15 in game four, but the Lady Falcons scored eight of the next nine points on their way to a 30-24 win in the fourth game.
          Sophomore Jenna Cherry's 15 kills led three Lady Bucs in double-digits, as seniors Laura Washington and Krista Gyarmati had 14 each.  Sophomore Bridget Buckley had a match-high 19 digs, while Cherry and Gyarmati added 13 each.  Sophomore Aubrey Pancratz recorded 10 block assists, as CBU posted 13 blocks as a team.  Senior Lauren Amundson logged 48 assists for the Lady Bucs.
          Monika Tortorici's 19 kills paced the Lady Falcons, while Sarah Keaten added 14 and Lauren Tortorici 13.
          The Lady Bucs return to the court next weekend at the Carson-Newman Tournament in Jefferson City, Tenn., where they will play four matches beginning with Charleston (W.V.) Friday afternoon at 12:30.  Their next home match will be the GSC opener against Harding Sept. 12.
