Lady Bucs Win 2-0 On Senior Night Over Ouachita Baptist

Oct. 28, 2005

Final Stats

Memphis, TN - Kate Miller and Ciara McGuiness both scored and Sarah Plummer recorded her second shutout of the season and the Christian Brothers University Lady Buccnaneer soccer team ended its season on a high note, defeating Ouachita Baptist 2-0 on senior night.

CBU (3-10-2, 2-8 GSC) out shot OBU 8-4 in the first half landing five shots on goal.

OBU (5-11, 2-7 GSC) had three shots each from Rachel Folk and Joyce Hanson. Goalkeeper Jenny Hubbard had eight saves between the pipes.

Neither team would score in the first half, but Miller opened the scoring with a shot off a pass from Angela Papachristou in the 56th minute. Ciara McGuiness followed that up with her 10th goal of the year on a give and go from Embla Gretarsdottir. McGuiness and Papachristou had three shots each. Gretarsdottir, Rachael Valenzuela and Miller had two shots. Plummer had three saves in goal.

The Lady Bucs finish the season 3-10-2, but under extreme hardships including losing two starters early on to season-ending injuries and playing the entire season with a depleted bench, they ended on a positive note.
