The Christian Brothers University Buccaneer soccer team scored three second-half goals and defeated West Florida, 3-1 today at a very wet Signaigo Field.

Bucs Push Past West Florida, 3-1 In Sloppy Weather

Memphis, TN – The Christian Brothers University Buccaneer soccer team scored three second-half goals and defeated West Florida, 3-1 today at a very wet Signaigo Field.

CBU (3-4-1, 1-0 GSC) got on the board five minutes into the second half when Kieran Wilson took a give and go with Mariano Ilari and beat the keeper low and left. The Bucs would score twice more, taking a 3-0 lead into the final ten minutes of the match.

UWF (4-3-1, 1-1 GSC) out shot the Bucs 10-8 in the second half, and got on the board in the 84th minute when Patrick McLean scored.

Ilari had a goal and two assists off the bench for the Bucs. Chris Marwood had five shots including a goal. Brad Whitsitt had four shots and an assist, while Wilson had a goal and an assist. Chad Rounder stopped seven in goal.

The Bucs will be back in action next Friday, September, 30 when they travel to Alabama-Huntsville.
