Bucs Defeat Drury 1-0 In Exhibition Opener

Freshman defender Nick Pfeifer scored a goal two minutes into the second half and the Christian Brothers University Buccaneer soccer team defeated Drury University on the road, 1-0.

Bucs Defeat Drury 1-0 In Exhibition Opener

Springfield, MO – Freshman defender Nick Pfeifer scored a goal two minutes into the second half and the Christian Brothers University Buccaneer soccer team defeated Drury University on the road, 1-0.

Drury is in its first year of Division II play after re-classifying from Division I.

Pfeifer took a pass from Mariano Ilari in the 47th minute and scored the first goal of his college career.

Ilari led the offensive attack with an assist and four shots on goal. Brian McNamara and Ricky Biven each had two shots and Juan Acevedo had one. Chad Rounder had four saves in goal and Daniel Foster stopped one.

The Bucs will be back in action this Saturday, August 20 when they face-off against Memphis at Echles Field in an exhibition. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. Memphis is ranked 27th in the pre-season national poll.
