Final Stats

Memphis, TN - The Christian Brothers University Buccaneer soccer team out shot the Rhodes College Lynx 30-6 tonight and shut out its cross-town rival 3-0 at Signaigo Field.

CBU (4-7-1) held a 10-2 shot advantage at the half, but the game remained tied. The Bucs' Matt Werakso took a pass from Ryan Peele in the 51st minute and headed home the game's first goal. CBU would score twice more including Craig Clarkson's first collegiate goal with under a minute to play.

Rhodes (3-7-2) was led by Trey Whitsitt and Brad Crawford with two shots apiece. Alex Margolin stopped eight shots in goal.

Werakso had six shots including his first goal of the season. Brad Whitsitt had a game-high seven shots and assisted on one goal. Mariano Ilari had a goal and five shots, while Ryan Peel added four shots and an assist. Craig De Melo and James Fitzpatrick had two shots each.

CBU will be back in action on Friday, October 14 when they travel to Montevallo for a 7 p.m. start.
