Bucs Drop Heartbreaker At Lane, 70-67

Nov. 22, 2005

Final Stats

Jackson, TN - Kevin Weybright scored 21 points, while Adam Brock and Sam Bradley added 17 and 16, respectively, but the Christian Brothers University Buccaneer basketball team lost tonight at Lane College, 70-67.

CBU (2-2) shot 47 percent from the field in the first half and 44 percent over the course of the game, but went cold in the final three minutes going without a single field goal.

Lane had a seven point lead three minutes into the second half, but the Bucs re-took the lead on a layup from Colin Flynn with just under 11 minutes remaining. CBU had a three point lead with five left, while both teams traded baskets up until the final minute.

Lane took a two point advantage on a free-throw with just a minute to play and increased its lead to three with thirty seconds left, but a late three from Bradley wouldn't go and the Dragons escaped with the win.

Lane (1-2) shot 50 percent from the field in the first half, but cooled off in the second making just 37 percent. Adrian Comer had 19 points and seven rebounds, while three others were in double-figures.

Weybright had 21 points and two rebounds, his fourth-straight game with 20 or more points. Brock added 17 points and nine rebounds, while Bradley had 16 points.

The Bucs will be back in action on Monday, November 28 when they travel to West Alabama for a non-conference match-up with the Tigers. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
