CUH Falls to Conference Rival Hawaii Pacific

Nov. 3, 2005

Honolulu, HI- In a match that decided the PacWest Championship, the Lady Swords proved to be a tough out in this PacWest battle. Eventually, the SeaWarriors prevailed 30-24, 30-27, and 30-25, but all three were closely contested games.

Chaminade fell behind at different points in each game, only to prove their fortitude with comebacks in each game, leaving HPU on the ropes. Christina Williams led the Swords with 15 kills, while Britnee Fonnesbeck added 11 kills and 4 blocks on the evening. Nikolina Rastovac had 38 assists, while Tamara Kauliakamoa provided 11 digs for CUH.

Hawaii Pacific was led by Barbara Martin with 20 kills, and clinched the PacWest Championship with the win.

HPU is now 22-1 on the year, and Chaminade is 9-14 with two games to play. The Lady Swords will be on the road at UH-Hilo, November 11 and 12. First serve against the Vulcans is scheduled for 7:15 PM both nights.
