2006: Powell appeared in every match for the Lady Swords in 2005. Noted for her defense and her serving ability, Chelsea had multiple service aces twice, versus BYU-Hawaii on September 24th and against UH-Hilo on October 8th. She was fourth on the team in digs with 128 and had a season high 11 digs against Central Washington on August 27th. High School: A graduate of St. Francis High School in Honolulu where she letterd in both Basketball and Volleyball. Earned ILH Honorable Mention Honors in 2003 for her efforts in volleyball. In 2004, Chelsea earned ILH honorable mention honors for her efforts in basketball for the Troubadors. Also played four years of club volleyball for the Oahu Volleyball Club in Honolulu. Even more impressive are her efforts off the court. Chelsea has received awards in American Sign Language and is the recipient of a Chaminade Presidential Scholarship. Chelsea is majoring in elementary education and will obtain her masters in elementary education. She is also continuing her education in American Sign Language. Personal: The daughter of Paula and Bill Powell, Chelsea was born in Hawaii on July 10, 1986.
