2005-06: Enjoyed a fantastic junior year, helping lead the Silverswords to a school record for wins and an NCAA tournament birth. Zack started all 27 games he played in. Was 5th in the nation in assists at 8.1 per game. Averaged 14.1 ppg to go along with 5 rebounds per contest. Shot 52% from the floor and 43% from three. Was selected to the All-Pac West First Team for the second consecutive year and was also named All West Region.

2004-05: Started all 27 games for the Swords as a sophomore. Led the team in minutes played, assists (183) and steals (55). Was second on the team in scoring (14.5 ppg) and rebounding (6.0 rpg). A crafty scorer, Zack shot 47% from the field, 40% from the arc and 70% from the line for the year. Along with leading Chaminade, Zack also led the league in assists and steals. This led to a First Team All-PacWest selection.

2003-04: Appeared in 5 games before a season-ending injury forced him to the sidelines. In five games Whiting played an average of 23 minutes per game. He recorded 28 points, 11 assists and 18 rebounds while shooting 47% from the field and 62% from the free throw line. Zack was awarded a medical red-shirt for the 2003-04 season and has three years of eligibility remaining.

Feather River College: Played one year at the Quincy, California school. Zack will have three years of eligibility remaining after averaging 11.5 points, 7.7 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game while leading the Golden Eagles to a 23-9 overall record in 2002-03. He was named to the Golden Valley All-Conference team.

High School: He was a four year starter for coach Randy Gilzeanat Pleasant Valley High School in Chico, California. The only player to be named North Section Most Valuable Player twice, Zack holds the single game scoring record at Pleasant Valley with 40 points. He led the Viking's to consecutive sectional championships in 2001 and 2002 while averaging 15 points, 9.7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals per game.

Personal: Zack was born in Chico, CA on April 16, 1984. He is the son of Scott and Deni Whiting and has a brother Josh (18).
