2004-05: Appeared in 11 games as a freshman for the Silverswords. Averaged 1.5 points per game and shot 79% from the free throw line. High School: Played two years for Doc Muguiishi at Iolani School in Honolulu, Hawaii. Ryan earned HHSAA all-tournament honors while helping lead his squad to the Hawaii High School State Championship by averaging 12 points and 4 assists on the season. Iolani School finished with a perfect 28-0 record in 2003-04. Personal: Ryan was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 15, 1986. He is the son of Clyde and Sandy Hirata. Ryan has a sister Chanel (15).
