Swords Open Season at Palmer Course, Turtle Bay

Turtle Bay, HI- Chaminade's first match of the season was an exciting one, as the Swords went head to head with BYU-Hawaii and Hawaii Pacific. Chaminade was led by the play of freshman Jon Ichimura of Mililani, HI. Ichimura shot an 82 on the famous Palmer Course, good enough for fourth place. Sophomore Darren Wong finished strong with an 89 for Chaminade. BYU-Hawaii's Kyle Kunioka led the way as medalist with a 77 on the day. The Seasiders also captured the team title, shooting 327 as a team. The three teams meet again on Friday, with the addition of Malone College of Ohio. Tee time is set for 11:50 AM on the Fazio Course at Turtle Bay.
