Stats

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.-- Felipe Noegueira's penalty kick goal in the first minute of the game proved the difference as Lincoln Memorial halted Carson-Newman's eight-game winning streak with a 1-0 victory at McCown Field.

LMU drove into C-N territory when Thomas Ostvold commited a foul in the goal box. Nogueira fired the penalty shot into the far side of the net for the decisive goal. The Eagles (8-1-0, 1-1-0 SAC) and Railsplitters (8-2-0, 3-0-0 SAC) fought hard throughout the match with the Eagles outshooting LMU, 13-7. Ale Oliveira led the Eagles with three shots on goal, but C-N couldn't find the back of the net against the LMU defense. LMU keeper Brent Cole earned the shutout win with six saves in goal. Jakop Storhaug, Omar Cooke, and Marcus Cabralis all had shots on goal for C-N.

The Eagles will seek to get back on the winning track against Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday, September 29 at 4:00 p.m.
