June 19, 2007 JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.-- Cartersville (GA) High School player Cody Nix has agreed to play college baseball at Carson-Newman. Nix batted .423 in 2007 for Cartersville High with 13 doubles and 33 runs scored. He earned All-Bartow County honors and, according to C-N head coach Tom Griffin, could contribute right away either in the infield or on the mound as a pitcher. The Eagles finished the 2007 season with a 36-20 record, claiming the 2007 South Atlantic Conference Tournament championship and a berth in the NCAA Division II South Regional Tournament.
