Bears Seek Singles and Doubles Conference Titles in Ojai

Fall 2007: Completed fall season with a 12-3 overall singles record to earn a No. 10 ranking entering the team dual season... individual tournament performances included four consecutive straight-set victories over ranked opponents including No. 21 Ani Mijacika of Clemson in the Riviera All-American Championship Final and No. 17 Megan Alexander of Florida in the second round on her way to clinching her second All-American Championship title in as many years... advanced to the quarterfinal of the ITA Northwest Regional Championships... defeated No. 50 Elena Gantcheva of UNLV and No. 15 Jessica Nguyen to advance to the quarterfinal round of the ITA National Indoor Championships... earned four wins with doubles partner Stephanie Kusano (ranked No. 15 in doubles), two each in All-American qualifiers and the ITA Northwest Regional Championships.

2006-07: Named All-American in singles and doubles... entered postseason play ranked No. 4 in ITA singles... knocked off Georgia Tech's Kristi Miller in three sets in NCAA team semifinals... advanced to the second round of the NCAA singles tournament... advanced to the Pac-10 Singles Championship final, defeating Stanford's Celia Durkin in the semifinals 6-4, 6-4... completed her junior season with an overall singles record of 36-12, 19-7 in dual match play... earned Pac-10 Player of the Week honors for the week of Feb. 12-18... in Cal's two victories over UCLA and USC on Feb. 16 and 17, defeated the reigning conference player of the week, Riza Zalameda of UCLA, 7-5, 7-5, and the next day knocked off USC's Lindsey Nelson, 6-1, 6-2... ranked in the Top 10 for the entire spring... notched a nine-match winning streak during the spring and won 10 out of her final 12 singles matches... won the singles title at the 2006 All-American Championships... winner of the Cal Invitational singles tournament... in doubles play, ranked No. 5 with Zsuzsanna Fodor, went 37-12 overall and 21-7 in dual match play... advanced to the second round of the NCAA doubles tournament... won the ITA Northwest Regional Championships doubles title, defeating Stanford pairs in the quarterfinal, semifinal and final... won the Cal Invitational doubles tournament.

2005-06: 2006 NCAA Singles Champion, the first Golden Bear to win a national singles title, defeating USC's Lindsey Nelson, 6-4, 6-1 to claim the crown... upset 2005 NCAA champ and No. 4 seed Zuzana Zemenova of Baylor, 6-3, 6-4, in the NCAA quarterfinal... the second Bear to advance to the NCAA final since Lisa Albano in 1991... the sixth unseeded player to advance to the NCAA final, sixth sophomore to win the national championship and the 15th NCAA singles champion to come from the Pac-10... named to the 2006 ITA Collegiate All-Star team as a 2006 All-American singles selection and received All-Pac-10 second team honors... ended the season with a 32-13 record, including a 9-2 record in Pac-10 dual matches... Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention... ranked No. 8 in doubles with partner Zsuzsanna Fodor at the end of the regular season...entered the 2005 fall season ranked No. 2 nationally on Oct. 5 in singles.

2004-05: Earned an NCAA tournament berth, defeating Kim Coventry of Kentucky in the first round, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2... won 10 of her 11 matches during a three month span form January to March, including a win over No. 9 Nicole Leimbach of USC, 7-6, 1-6, 10-8... finished her freshman season with a 33-10 overall singles record, playing at No. 1 singles exclusively for the Bears and ending the year ranked No. 6 nationally... with partner Zsuzsanna Fodor in doubles play, competed at the No. 1 doubles spot during the entire 2005 season... captured her first singles title, winning the Nike Cal Invitational, defeating Stephanie Balzert of Arizona 6-0, 6-3... earned ITA Northwest Region Rookie of the Year... named 2005 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year earning first-team All-Pac-10 honors.
