Relja is a good complement to Cal's other central back, Courtney Hooker...a physical defender who uses her body well...has good size and speed...terrific in the air...has matured a lot during her first three seasons...calming influence on the field.

CAL: 2006:
Tore her ACL nine games into the season and sat out the remainder of the year...a starter before suffering the injury. 2005: Started in all 21 games she played...Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention honoree...helped the Bears become one of the best defensive teams in the nation, setting a school record for GAA (0.475, seventh nationally) and tying Cal records for goals allowed (11) and shutouts (14). 2004: Started in 18 of the 19 games she saw action...major factor in Cal's improved defense, which surrendered only 16 goals (0.76 GAA, third Pac-10) and recorded 11 shutouts.

HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL:
Played for the Pleasanton Rage, which advanced to the State Cup final in 2002 and 2004...led Amador Valley HS to a North Coast Section championship and league titles in 2003 and 2004...enjoys reading Stephen King books...overcame appendicitis while in Croatia...has traveled around Europe to see family...political science major...parents are Boris and Rita Relja...born Feb. 10, 1986, in Gent, Belgium.
