FRESHMAN IN 2001-02: Placed 12th in the 1650 free (15:41.20), 13th in the 200 breast (2:02.47) and 19th in the 400 IM (3:57.55) at the Pac-10 Championships...held Cal's second-best time in the 1650 free (15:41.20) and third-best times in the 1000 free (9:29.95) and 400 IM (3:57.55).

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2001 graduate of California High School...swam for coach Rich Thornton, son of Golden Bear head coach Nort Thornton...was a four-time high school swimming All-American with times of 57.30 in the 100 breast, 2:03.40 in the 200 breast and 1:52.22 in the 200 IM...was a member of the United States' Olympic Junior Team...was a two-time high school water polo All-American.

Why did you decide to come to Cal?
"I came to Cal because it has the greatest swim team and the best coaching staff. Cal offers hundreds of opportunities, as the No. 1 public university and I just knew that regardless of any other offers, this is where I was going to come."

What do you plan to accomplish and achieve while at Cal?
"I plan to make finals at NCAAs in the 100 breast and help Cal win a national championship. I also plan to graduate with a degree in political science and just enjoy my time while I'm on this team. I also want to surf Mavericks!"
