One of the Bears' most experience players and top hitters...is returning for his senior campaign after back-to-back summers as a Cape Cod League All-Star...this past summer played for the Bourne Braves, batting .255 with 10 doubles, four home runs and 22 RBI...in the summer of 2006 played for the Orleans Cardinals and was named Eastern Division MVP during the all-star game when he hit a two-run homer and had a sacrifice fly...finished that summer batting .255 with a team-high 14 doubles and 20 RBI...was outstanding in 2005, earning Freshman All-America honors in Collegiate Baseball and first-team All-Pac-10 accolades...was the first Cal freshman to earn All-America and All-Pac-10 honors since Xavier Nady was the National Freshman of the Year in 1998...an exceptional hitter with power to all fields...injured his right shoulder prior to the 2004 season and only competed in two games before redshirting...was high school teammates with former Cal outfielder Brennan Boesch.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2006): Batted .222 (37-for-167, .184 vs. Pac-10) with five doubles, a triple, two home runs and 20 RBI...started 43 games at third base, three games at second base and one game as designated hitter...hit a solo home run May 5 at Stanford...was 4-for-10 with an RBI at USC Apr. 7-9, including 3-for-3 with an RBI Apr. 9...went 2-for-3 with a double and triple at UNLV Mar. 12...was 3-for-5 with two doubles, a home run and a career-high seven RBI at UC Davis Feb. 14.
