An outstanding left-handed hitting prospect who had 19 starts in centerfield for the Bears last season as a true freshman...also a talented fielder with a strong arm and above average speed...this past summer excelled for the La Crosse Loggers in the Northwoods League, batting .343 with five doubles, two triples, two home runs, 15 RBI and nine stolen bases.
AS A FRESHMAN (2007): Batted .230 (14-for-61, .269 vs. the Pac-10) with a double, a triple and three RBI...had 19 starts in center field and one start in left field...went 1-for-3 with a double and RBI versus USC May 19...was 1-for-1 with an RBI at UCLA May 6...went 2-for-3 at San Francisco May 1...was 2-for-4 versus Arizona State Apr. 27.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: At Miramonte High School was a 2005 All-CIF shortstop, batting .385 with seven doubles, six triples, four home runs and 34 RBI...was a two-time first-team All-DFAL selection, leading his school to two-straight North Coast Section titles...was also a two-time Puma Preseason All-American, selected one of Team One Baseball's Top 10 West players, and was a member of the Bay Area World Series All-Tournament team...undeclared major...several relatives attended Cal, including father, Peter, who competed for the men's soccer team...parents are Peter and Katie Jackson...born August 2, 1988 in Berkeley, Calif.
