A switch-hitting infielder who is in contention for starting duties at either second base, or as the team's designated hitter...hit well in 30 games with 10 starts as a redshirt freshman...this past summer was selected as an all-star in the Central Illinois Collegiate League, hitting .304 with nine doubles, two triples, four home runs and 23 RBI for the Dubois County (Ind.) Bombers...redshirted in 2006 in order to recover from fall 2005 right elbow surgery.
