A talented junior left-hander slated to be one of the Bears' Pac-10 weekend starters...showed flashes of brilliance as a true freshman and shined towards the end of his sophomore season, starting the last four Pac-10 series...throws in the high 80s to low 90s with a cut-fastball, curveball and change-up...played for the Orleans Cardinals in the Cape Cod League this past summer, finishing 1-1 with a 3.14 ERA and 48 strikeouts in 43.0 innings...

AS A SOPHOMORE (2007): Was honorable mention All-Pac-10, finishing 5-3 with a 3.34 ERA (9th in Pac-10) in 26 appearances (7th in Pac-10)...won in starts versus USC May 21 (6.1 innings, three hits, two runs, five walks, two strikeouts), and at UCLA May 6, throwing a career-high 8.0 innings with five hits, no runs, two walks and a career-high six strikeouts...also pitched well in Cal's win versus Arizona State Apr. 29, throwing 6.0 innings with five hits, one earned run, one walk and four strikeouts...earned win in relief at UC Santa Barbara Mar. 28 (2.1 innings, four hits, one earned run)...had seven strikeouts in 3.0 innings (two appearances) versus Rhode Island Mar. 16 and 18...won in relief at UC Davis Mar. 13 (1.2 innings, one hit, no runs, two strikeouts)...struck out the side with the bases loaded in relief at San Jose State (Feb. 20)...picked up first collegiate win Feb. 17 versus UNLV (6.0 innings, three hits, one run, three walks, career-high six strikeouts)...
