CALIFORNIA: Belger has completed her eligibility in outdoor track and field and will compete for Cal during the indoor track and field events this season.

AS A SENIOR IN 2001-02: Placed third in the 800m (2:05.09) at the NCAA Championships, earning All-America honors...scored points for the Golden Bears at the Pac-10 Championships, placing sixth in the 800m (2:09.64)...set Cal's best marks of the season in the 800m (2:04.39) at the Big Meet and in the 1500m (4:30.22) at the Brutus Hamilton Memorial Invitational...her PR of 2:04.39 stands as the second-best all-time among Cal competitors...held the Golden Bears' second-best time of the season in the 400m (57.39), set at the UC Davis Quadrangular...won the 800m event three times, at the UCLA Triangular (2:10.71), Mt. SAC Relays (2:04.60) and Big Meet (2:04.39)...won the 1500m at the Cal Open (4:33.20)...took second in the 800m at the Cal Invitational (2:12.11) and in the 1500m at the Brutus Hamilton Memorial Invitational (4:30.00).

AS A JUNIOR IN 2000-01: Belger's time of 2:09.98 at the California-Nevada State Meet was a team best for the season...also notched a team-best 4:42.66 in the 1500m at the Texas Relays...member of the 4x400m relay team that finished fourth at the Pac-10 Championships with a season-best time of 3:43.66.

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 1999-2000: Was named Cal's Most Outstanding Female Track Athlete...placed third in the 800m at the Pac-10 meet with a then-PR of of three Cal women's athletes to appear on the medal stand at Pac-10s...came from behind to win the at the Big Meet against a field of five Cardinal runners...ran a PR and team season best of 4:29.02 in her only 1500m race at Mt. SAC.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 1998-1999: Posted a season-best time of 57.42 in the 400m and a Pac-10 meet qualifying time of 2:11.13 in the 800m...finished third in the 800m at U.S. Junior Nationals (2:08.91).

HIGH SCHOOL: Competed in cross country and track at Sandia High School...set a 400m career best of 56:05...won the 400m at the state meet her freshman through junior years...state champion in the 800m as a junior and senior and the 1600m as a a freshman, won the 4A State Cross Country Championship...holds a personal best of 18:25 in the 5K at the Woodward course in Fresno.

PERSONAL: Erin Jean N. Belger was born March 29, 1980, in Boston, MA...parents are Mark Belger and Sue MacEachen...her father was the NCAA 800m champion at Villanova in 1979...her mother won the 800m at AIAW nationals for New Mexico with Cal coach Tony Sandoval as her coach...her mother was the middle distance coach at New Mexico...majoring in art and art history.
