BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Andrea Lalic, a sophomore middle blocker on the UAB volleyball team, has been named this week's UAB Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Lalic recorded a career-high 19 kills in the Conference USA Tournament championship match against Tulsa this past weekend and was a member of the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll as a freshman.

Lalic is averaging 2.07 kills per game this season and at last weekend's league tournament, the Serbia & Montenegro native upped her offensive production to 3.30 kills per game in helping the Blazers to a runner-up finish.

Lalic was a member of the first-ever Conference USA Tournament championship team at UAB in 2006 and has helped the program to its first back-to-back 20-win seasons since 1992-93.

The Blazers will play their final regular season match at Middle Tennessee on Friday at 7:00 p.m.

Lalic is a civil engineering major at UAB.
