C-USA Sports Seven on the Academic All-District Teams
Nov. 8, 2007 Conference USA had five volleyball players named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Teams. The teams are voted on by college and university Sports Information, Media Relations and Athletic Communications professionals who are members of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Earning first team honors was Rice's Jessie Boulavsky and UCF's Jenny Heppert. Boulavsky, a sophomore, was named to the All-District VI first team. A Conference USA Academic medalist as a freshman, Boulavsky carries a 4.09 grade point average as a pre-med and psychology major. The Clear Brook High School graduate was also a member of the President's Honor Roll at Rice in her first two semesters. On the court, Boulavsky has made eight starts and been the first off the bench in the other 18 matches as the Owls' right-side hitter. She is second on the team with a .318 hitting percentage and third with 0.65 blocks per game. Heppert, a junior middle blocker, was named All-District III first team with a 4.0 GPA and is working toward a degree in biology.
