IRVING, Texas - UAB's Aleksandra Vujovic and Nevena Stefanov have earned Conference USA's Offensive and Setter of the Week honors, respectively. Christine Bach of Memphis takes the weekly Defensive Player of the Week award after establishing a program-best 35 digs at SMU Friday. The mark ties the most digs in a four-game tilt in C-USA this season and eclipsed Memphis' former mark of 33 set by Rosie Glenn on September 25, 1998.

Vujovic and Stefanov led the Blazers to a pair of 3-0 wins over SMU and Tulsa last week. Vujovic ended the week with a pair of double-doubles and a 5.50 kills and 4.83 digs per game average. Stefanov had a stellar performance at the setter position where she dished out an average of 15.67 assists per game.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ALEKSANDRA VUJOVIC, UAB - 5-10, Jr., OH, Lararevac, Serbia & Montenegro (Lazarevac)
Vujovic produced a pair of double-doubles and averaged 5.50 kills and 4.83 digs per game in UAB's 3-0 victories at Tulsa and SMU last week. Vujovic landed 19 kills on .548 hitting and 17 digs at Tulsa Friday and had 14 kills and 12 digs at SMU Sunday. Vujovic has stepped up and taken a more active role in the UAB offense after the team lost All-America outside hitter Ivana Bozic for the season. Going into this past weekend, Vujovic was averaging 1.51 kills per game and 3.12 digs per game. Vujovic hit .373 for the week in helping the Blazers win 13 of their last 14 matches. This is Vujovic first C-USA Offensive Player of the Week honor.

SETTER OF THE WEEK
NEVENA STEFANOV, UAB - 6-0, Jr., S, Belgrade, Serbia & Montenegro (Belgrade Athletic)
Stefanov averaged an impressive 15.67 assists per game in helping the Blazers win 3-0 at Tulsa and SMU this past weekend. Stefanov had 52 assists against the Golden Hurricane, in a match that featured two of the league's elite setters. The Blazers hit a combined .346 Friday. Her assists total at Tulsa made her the 14th setter in C-USA history and third at UAB to surpass 4,000 career assists. Stefanov also finished with seven digs and three kills against Tulsa. At SMU, Stefanov recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 42 assists and 10 digs, in addition to landing five kills and making two blocks. This is the third Setter of the Week honor for Stefanov this season and fifth of her career.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CHRISTINE BACH, MEMPHIS - 5-9, Fr.-RS, L, Dresden, Germany (Royal Wis.)
Bach picked up 57 digs in just eight games--an average of 7.12 digs per game. The freshman recorded a program-best 35 digs (8.75 dpg) in a 3-1 win at SMU Friday. Her 35 digs tied the most digs in a four-game tilt in C-USA this season and eclipsed Memphis' former mark of 33 set by Rosie Glenn on September 25, 1998. That total also surpassed her previous personal-best of 25 digs in a win over Houston (10/21/07). Bach followed her record performance with a match-best 22 digs in a four-gamer at Tulsa on Sunday. Not only did Bach anchor the backrow, but she also was solid from the service line, leading the Tigers with five aces. This is Bach's first C-USA Defensive Player of the Week honor.
