The Collegiate Volleyball Update (CVU.com) announced that Saint Louis' junior middle blocker Aida Antanaviciute was selected as the CVU.com National Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 24.
A 6-0 middle blocker from Sialuliai, Lithuania, Antanaviciute led the Billikens in a 3-2 win at Cincinnati on Sunday, ending a 23-match home winning streak for the Bearcats.
In the match, Antanaviciute recorded a double-double, tallying 32 kills while hitting .306 and picking up 20 digs. She also added four blocks and three aces.
It wasn't her first 30-20 match of the week, though. At Southwest Missouri State, Antanaviciute piled up 30 kills and 20 digs, along with five blocks, in a 3-1 loss for Saint Louis.
In a three-game match against Louisville, she had 20 kills and 10 digs, along with three blocks.
For the three matches, Antanaviciute finished with 82 kills (6.83 kpg) and 50 digs.
Antanaviciute also earned C-USA Co-Player of the Week honors for the week of Oct. 25, a title she shares with DePaul's Janet Goreham. Antanaviciute is the only player in conference history to earn Player of the Week accolades four times in a single season.
The Billikens (11-13, 3-4 C-USA) are next in action on Fri., Oct. 29, when they host DePaul in a 7 p.m. match at Bauman-Eberhardt Center.
