NEW ORLEANS, La. - Tulane junior outside hitter Sara Radosevic was named National Player of the Week by College Volleyball Update Tuesday following her 7.00 kills per game performance last week in three Tulane victories. In nine games played, she tallied 63 kills. "This is certainly high praise for Sara, and a positive thing for her and our program" head coach Liz Kritza said. "We look for her to continue to give us this type of effort night in and night out as we reach the critical portion of our chase for a conference championship." Radosevic recorded 63 kills and connected for a .432 hitting percentage in wins over Stephen F. Austin, UCF and Southern Miss - all 3-0 Tulane sweeps. She posted 21 kills over SFA, hitting .381 against the Southland Conference leader with 17 digs for her eighth double-double of the year. Against UCF, Radosevic hit for a .474 percentage, with 22 kills on 38 attempts. She followed that up with a 20-kill effort against Southern Miss, with a .447 hitting percentage. She leads Conference USA in service aces with 0.62 per game and is fourth in points at 5.52 per game. She is now seventh all-time at Tulane in kills with 1,288 in her career. On Sunday, she passed Shannon Hergert (1,283 kills from 1994-97). With her career average of 5.13 KPG, she could reach Alicia Robertson's (1991-94) career mark (1,963) in 132 games. Radosevic also was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, the second weekly C-USA honor for her this season, and fifth of her career. The Tulane volleyball team sits at 21-5 overall, and 9-2 in Conference USA, in second place a half-game back of Marshall. Tulane visits SMU on Friday at 7 p.m. CT, and then travels to Tulsa for a 1 p.m. Sunday match that will be recorded and aired tape delay nationally on CSTV on Tues., Oct. 30 at 9 pm CT.
