Louisville's Bing Sun earns C-USA Player of the Week honors after leading Louisville to a 3-0 record last weekend; She hit .600 or higher in all three matches, while adding a career-high eight block assists against Charlotte; After notching wins over Memphis and Saint Louis last weekend, South Florida extended its win streak to nine matches. C-USA PLAYER OF THE WEEK BING SUN, Louisville OH, So., Beijing, China (Huarion)
Louisville's BING SUN earns C-USA Player of the Week honors for the period ending Oct. 20. In three consecutive matches, Sun posted a .600 or higher hitting percentage to lead the Cardinals to a 3-0 record last week. In a 3-0 win over Kentucky, she notched 20 kills and only two errors for a .621 attack percentage. She followed with a 14-kill performance against Charlotte, while adding eight blocks and five digs. Sun concluded the weekend against East Carolina with 14 kills for a .600 hitting percentage and 11 digs. For the week, she notched a total of 48 kills and only five errors for an outstanding .614 hitting percentage. She also averaged 5.33 kills per game and 2.33 digs per game Bing has notched double-digit kill performances in 18 matches this year and has led the Cardinals in kills for 15 of 19 matches this season.

C-USA WIN STREAKS After notching wins over Memphis and Saint Louis last weekend, South Florida extended its win streak to nine matches. The Bulls are also ranked first in the league standings with a 6-0 record. Louisville has also opened its conference play with an undefeated record (5-0) and has won its last seven matches this season. With their five wins this season in C-USA play, the Cards have also not lost a regular-season conference match since Oct. 20, 2001, when the Cardinals fell to Saint Louis, 3-2. U of L has won 10 straight C-USA matches.
C-USA NOTABLES - C-USA is the only league that has four players ranked in the Top 15 of this week's NCAA's kills category. South Florida's MICHELLE COLLIER is ranked 10th with 5.41 kills per game, while Tulane's BRITNEY HURST is ranked 11th with 5.40 kills per game. Saint Louis' COLLEEN HUNTER (5.30 kpg) and Cincinnati's JULIE DUPONT (5.30 kpg) are ranked 13th and 14th, respectively.
THE 30-KILL CLUB During the 2001 season, Conference USA led the nation with six players who had posted 30-plus kills in a game. This season, the league has already surpassed that mark with nine C-USA players tallying a total of 13 30-plus kill performances. Here is a look at this year's 30-plus kill showings.

C-USA'S CAREER PERFORMANCES After posting 15 kills against Northeastern on Sept. 5, South Florida's MICHELLE COLLIER captured the league's career record in kills. Collier currently has a total of 2,429 kills and broke the old record held by DePaul's Stephanie Bishop (1998-01), who posted 2,052 kills in her four-year career. Saint Louis' COLLEEN HUNTER became only the third player in league history to reach 2,000 career kills. She currently has 2,043.
Cincinnati's TRISH LADUSAW broke the C-USA all-time digs record with a total of 1,873 in 424 games played. She surpassed former Blue Demon Stephanie Bishop (1998-01), who notched 1,842 career digs in 493 games played.
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL Here are some of the top individual performers in C-USA from Oct. 14-20.
BONITA WISE, CIN: Averaged 4.00 kill, 1.50 digs and 1.00 blocks per game last week to lead the Bearcats to wins over East Carolina and Charlotte. She also posted a season-best .611 hitting percentage, notching 12 kills and only one error against the Pirates.
KATIE ENGEL, DPU: Hit .420 against Southern Miss, after putting away 34 kills and just five errors. She also dominated defensively, tallying a total of 28 digs against the Golden Eagles.
JANE ANNE KARASEK, HOU: Posted 50 kills to average 7.14 kills per game. She led the team in kills with 28 against Rice, while also adding 22 against TCU.
THERESA COUGHLIN, MAR: Totaled 18 kills and a team-best .304 attack percentage against Southern Miss before posting 19 attacks versus Tulane. For the week, she totaled 52 kills for a .273 hitting percentage.
NANCY NELLANS, MEM: Has recorded double-digit kills in the last four matches, including 13 kills against South Florida and 12 kills against UAB last weekend. She is just 45 kills shy of her 300th kill as a freshman.
BONNYE GLOVER, USF: Notched a career-high eight block assists against Saint Louis, while also notching 11 kills and one service ace. For the week, she averaged almost two blocks per game and 2.67 kills per game.
ANDREA BUSH, USM: Led Southern Miss to two C-USA road wins after averaging 5.25 kills and 28 digs for the weekend.
CARISSA MILLS, TCU: Set a career-high six blocks against Houston last weekend. She also recorded a .400 hitting percentage, posting eight kills and no errors.
BRITNEY HURST, TUL: Averaged .523 kills and 4.08 digs per game to help Tulane to a 4-0 record last week. She tallied 26 kills and 19 digs against Marquette.
KRISTI LEE, UAB: Posted back-to-back double-double performances in wins over Pittsburgh and Memphis. She tied the match-high with 20 kills against Memphis, while notching a team-high .302 attack percentage.
FOR THE RECORD BOOKS On. Oct. 12, Houston's JENNY TANNEBERGER tied a C-USA record for kills in a match, notching a career-high 41 against Saint Louis. South Florida's MICHELLE COLLIER was previously the lone record-holder, after nabbing 41 kills on Nov. 10, 2000.
C-USA NOTEBOOK
CHARLOTTE: The 49ers' league record evened out at 3-3 after the team dropped matches at Louisville and Cincinnati over the weekend. After posting a total of 10 digs last weekend, COURTNEY BURG is on the verge of moving into the top 10 on Charlotte's career digs list. She currently ranks 11th with 2,061 and is only 16 digs away from passing Marsha Waufle (96-99), who compiled 1,076 career digs in 384 games played for 10th place. The Niners' next match is Saturday against East Carolina.
CINCINNATI: The Bearcats went 2-0 last weekend, sweeping both East Carolina and Charlotte. Cincinnati is riding a six-match winning streak and has now won 14 games in a row. BONITA WISE led all Bearcats, posting a season-high .611 hitting percentage with 12 kills and only one error against the Pirates. She finished the weekend, averaging 4.00 kills, 1.50 digs and 1.00 blocks per game. With a total of 27 kills over the weekend, TRISH LADUSAW moved into 18th place on the NCAA career digs list with 1,873. Ladusaw needs just 127 more digs to become only the eighth player in NCAA history to record 2,000 career digs. The Bearcats will next take on
DE PAUL: DePaul dropped two matches against Tulane and Southern Miss last weekend. KATIE ENGEL led the Blue Demons, firing a season-high 34 kills against the Golden Eagles for a .420 hitting percentage. She also added a team-high 28 digs. LARA MARKS, who notched 30 kills over the weekend, currently ranks fourth in the conference with a .329 attack percentage. DePaul hosts UW-Green Bay on Tuesday, before taking on Memphis on Friday and Saint Louis on Saturday. EAST CAROLINA: The Pirates were swept by Cincinnati and Louisville last weekend. SARAH VICK leads the conference in service aces with 0.55 per games, while as a team, ECU stands fourth in the league with 1.91 per game. East Carolina hosts UNC-Wilmington on Tuesday.
HOUSTON: Houston swept TCU, 3-0 last weekend to improve to 3-1 on the season. JANE ANNE KARASEK posted 22 kills and 10 digs against the Horned Frogs. She currently ranks second on the team and eighth in the conference with 4.37 kills per game. JENNY TANNEBERGER ranks third in the conference with a .351 hitting percentage, while also ranking seventh with an average of 1.14 blocks per game. JACKIE GONZALEZ notched a match-high 21 digs versus TCU to ranked first on the team with an average of 4.41 digs per game. As a team, Houston leads C-USA with 18.50 digs per game. The Cougars host SMU on Wednesday.
LOUISVILLE: The Cardinals remain undefeated in conference play, after downing Charlotte and East Carolina last weekend. BING SUN recorded 14 kills in both matches. She tallied a .619 hitting percentage, recording only one attack error against Charlotte. She finished the weekend, hitting .600 against the Pirates and adding 11 digs. She has led the Cardinals in kills in 15 of 19 matches this year, while recording double-digits in 18 matches this season. Louisville takes on Southern Miss on Friday.
MARQUETTE: Marquette fell to Southern Miss and Tulane at home this past weekend. Freshman THERESA COUGHLIN picked up 52 kills and 17 digs last weekend. She totaled 18 kills and a team-high .304 hitting percentage against Southern Miss. Coughlin has now recorded double-digit kill performances in her last seven matches. Southern Miss. Freshman JESSE KLEIN totaled a career-high 11 blocks against Southern Miss, the second-highest total by a Golden Eagle this year. Klein followed her performance against USM with a personal-best 14 kills and 11 digs against Tulane. As a team, Marquette recorded a season-high 22 blocks against Southern Miss. Marquette takes on Saint Louis on Friday and Memphis on Saturday.
MEMPHIS: Memphis suffered losses against South Florida and UAB last weekend. NANCY NELLAN recorded 13 kills against South Florida and 12 against UAB. She is second on the team with an average of 4.05 kills per game in C-USA games and has downed double-digit kills in the last four matches. Nellans is also just 45 kills away from recording her 300th career kill as a freshman. Memphis will host Belmont and Arkansas on Tuesday, before taking on DePaul and Saint Louis this weekend.
SAINT LOUIS: The Billikens lost to South Florida, 3-1 last weekend to fall to 14-7 overall and 4-1 in C-USA play. The Billikens have played a rugged schedule and their losses have all come against quality competition. The seven teams that have defeated the Billikens have posted a combined record of 97-39 (.713). COLLEEN HUNTER can become just the fourth player at SLU with 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in a career. The three others were Kim Moorleghen, Suzanne Oren and Julie Tretten. Hunter is averaging 6.5 kills a game in Conference USA play. She is hitting .389 over her last six matches and has hit over .400 in four of the last six contests. Saint Louis will travel to Birmingham, Ala., to face UAB on Tuesday.
SOUTH FLORIDA: South Florida remains undefeated (6-0) in conference play after defeating Memphis and Saint Louis last weekend. BONNYE GLOVER posted a career-high eight block assists against Saint Louis to average almost two blocks per game last week. Senior MICHELLE COLLIER notched a team-high 19 kills and 19 digs against SLU. She currently leads C-USA with an average of 5.41 kills per game. South Florida takes on Miami (Fla.) on Monday before facing Houston on Friday and TCU on Saturday.
SOUTHERN MISS: The Golden Eagles put together a three-match win streak this week, including two wins over C-USA foes Marquette and DePaul. The Eagles averaged 15.0 kills per game, while tallying 41 aces and 191 digs. ANDREA BUSH posted her second 30-plus kill performance of the season with her 30 kills against the Blue Demons. For the week, Bush notched 63 kills and 28 digs. CRYSTAL ZANE recorded her 1,000th career dig against DePaul and becomes only the second USM player to record over 1,000 digs and 125 aces in a career. Southern Miss returns to action on Friday when it hosts Louisville.
TCU: The Horned Frogs suffered a 3-0 setback against Houston on Friday. DOMINIKA SZABO led TCU with 17 kills, while JENN CUCA added 15 digs. CARISSA MILLS notched a team-high .400 attack percentage, tallying eight kills and no errors. She also posted a career-high six blocks and 10 digs. TCU hosts UAB on Friday and South Florida on Saturday.
TULANE: Tulane posted wins over DePaul and Marquette last weekend to improve the Green Wave's win streak to five matches. The four-game wins at DePaul and Marquette marked the first time since Oct. 1-3, 1999 that Tulane took both matches of a league weekend. BRITNEY HURST notched 26 kills for a .321 hitting percentage against Marquette. She also tallied a double-double against DePaul with 19 kills and 18 digs. Against Marquette, Tulane compiled 12.0 team blocks, including a five-block effort by junior KIM SWAFFORD and four-block performances from Hurst, DEVA FOWLER, and LAUREN JONES- MCLAIN.
UAB: UAB went 2-0 last weekend, defeating Pittsburgh, 3-2 and Memphis, 3-1. KRISTI LEE notched double-double performances, including a 20-kill and 20-dig performance against Memphis on Saturday. For the week, she totaled 37 kills for a .213 hitting percentage. She averaged 4.11 kills and 4.22 digs per game. UAB hosts Saint Louis on Tuesday.
