C-USA Volleyball Co-Players of the Week

Saint Louis' Colleen Hunter and Houston's Jenny Tanneberger share C-USA Player of the Week honors for the period ending Oct. 13. Over the weekend, Hunter became only the third player in league history to reach 2,000 kills in her career. With a 41-kill performance against Saint Louis, Tanneberger set a school record, while also tying the C-USA record and the NCAA Division I match high for 2002.

Saint Louis’ COLLEEN HUNTER and Houston’s JENNY TANNEBERGER share C-USA Player of the Week honors for the period ending Oct. 13. Hunter posted two outstanding matches in leading the Billikens to two league wins. She claimed a school record 27 kills in a three-match victory over TCU, while hitting .408. She notched a triple-double against Houston with 30 kills, 15 digs and 10 blocks. She also claimed her 2,000th career kill against the Cougars and became only the third player in league history to reach that milestone. For the week, she tallied 57 kills for a .386 hitting percentage, while adding 24 digs and 14 total blocks.

JENNY TANNEBERGER, Houston
MH, Sr., San Antonio, Texas (Texas)

With a 41-kill performance against Saint Louis, Tanneberger set a school record, while also tying the C-USA record and the NCAA Division I match high for 2002. Against the Billikens, she tallied a .493 hitting percentage with only six errors, while adding nine digs and four blocks. In a win over Memphis, she posted 12 kills and only three errors. Tanneberger finished the weekend with a total of 53 kills and only nine errors for a .396 hitting percentage. She also averaged 5.3 kills per game.
