Southern Miss' Luytes Announces Staff Addition
Southern Miss Head Women’s Volleyball Coach Ricci Luyties has announced the addition of Nicki Tribble to his staff as an assistant coach.
Tribble joins the staff after a standout volleyball career at Southern Miss, where she was a four-year letterwinner and a three-year starter. She led the team in kills and was third on the team in service aces during the 2003 season. She was named the most valuable player at the Mississippi State tournament and received all-tournament honors in the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
The Kansas City, Mo., native recorded 1,034 kills and 929 digs in her career. She ranks in the top 15 in four categories, including kills, total attempts, services and digs. She was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District VI Second team in 2003.
Tribble, 22, received her degree in exercise science in December. She prepped at Blue Springs South (Mo.) High School where she was a three-year letterwinner. She continues to hold five school records including kills in match, kills in a season, kills in a career, aces in a career and digs in a career. She was named to the Blue Springs All-Six team and played in the Missouri-Kansas all-star game and all-state game. She is the daughter of Vaughn and Chris Tribble. Her sister Kelly is an assistant volleyball coach at Oklahoma.
