The Mustangs volleyball team ended their spring season on a good note this past weekend. SMU competed in the Texas Tornados in Houston where they posted their third weekend of going two for three. The Mustangs started the day off with tough competition against a top-25 team in LSU but SMU held its ground and played the ranked team respectively. The Mustang narrowly fell to the Tigers in both matches, 32-30, 30-28.

As the day progressed, SMU continued to mesh better as a team and the Mustang defense intensified. SMU stomped Texas Tech in two sets, 30-16, 30-26, and then ended the day with a win against SFA. The Mustangs snatched two from SFA, a team that qualified for the NCAAs last season.

With their spring playing schedule concluded, the Mustangs will continue practice for a couple more weeks until classes adjourn for the summer. SMU will kick off their 2007 schedule at home on Aug. 24-25 as they host the first of two Invitationals this season.
