The UTEP tennis team takes to the road this weekend to compete in its final tournament of the fall season. The Miners will compete at the initial North Texas Class Nov. 2-4 at the Waranch Tennis Center.

Action will commence at 9 a.m. each day, and the Miners will be challenging players from Illinois-Chicago, North Texas and UTSA.

UTEP has quietly put together a solid fall campaign. Things started strong at the Miner Fall Invite (9/21-23), where UTEP combined to bring home one flight championship, three second-place showings and one third-place result. As a squad, the Orange and Blue posted a cumulative record of 17-8 in singles play.

At the North Florida invite, (10/12-14) the Miners had three individuals qualify for the semifinals in the top flights and two others (Ximena Fuentes in singles and Fuentes/Vicky Michaud) advanced to the finals in consolation play. Weronika Bloczynska, Marina Deluca and Megan Pritchard all surged into semifinals of championship flights to go along with a back-draw championship and a runner-up showing.

The Miners then headed to compete at the ITA Southwest Regionals (10/19-20) and the UNM Individual Invite. In two days of competition, UTEP racked up 10 victories against its strongest competition of the year.
