Tulsa Women Face Tennessee at NCAA Regional
 

 
 
 

 
The Conference USA Champion Tulsa Hurricane will face Tennessee in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

Nashville, Tenn. - The University of Tulsa women's tennis team (21-4) will head to Nashville, Tenn., to face Tennessee in the first round of the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships at 10 a.m. on May 11.

Vanderbilt will serve as host of the first and second rounds. Teams in this region include Tulsa, Tenessee, Vanderbilt and Murray State. The other first round match between The Commodores and the Racers will be played at 1 p.m. on Friday.

TU enters the tournament with a 21-4 record and still on a high from winning the Conference USA championship, the first conference championship ever for the program.

Tulsa is led by Santie Delport who sports a 27-6 record, as well as Agostina Santoro who is 27-4 on the year, including a 19-1 mark in duel matches.

Delport represented the Hurricane as a first team All-C-USA selection, in addition to being named the Outstanding Singles Player of the Tournament fllowing the conference tournament.

Kindsay Grimes will play the number one position for TU and was a second team all-conference selection, while Carla Zabaleta landed on the third team and will play in the three position.

Grimes and Zabaleta will lead the doubles phase for the Hurricane, and were named the Outstanding Doubles Team of the Conference Tournament.
