Julia von Samson ended her UAB career on a 14-match win streak.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Two UAB women's tennis player's garnered all-conference accolades on Tuesday. Senior Julia von Samson was named to the Conference USA All-Conference Second Team and junior Gulsah Esen was named to the third team. The Blazers finished the 2007 season 14-2.

UAB joins Tulsa as the only schools to place players on both the second and third teams.

Von Samson finished her career at UAB on a 14-match winning streak and was 17-4 overall on the year in singles play. She teamed with fellow senior Annemieke Elsholz to post a 7-3 record in doubles play, 6-2 at flight one.

Esen played primarily No. 1 singles for the Blazers this past season where she was 6-7. For the year, Esen played to a record of 11-9, while teaming with senior Nischa Maier-Knapp to go 8-6 in doubles play.
