HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The UAB women's tennis team wrapped up play at the Southern Miss Invitational on Sunday by going 2-2 in doubles play. The Blazers split doubles matches with Southeastern Louisiana and Arkansas State.

Against Southeastern Louisiana, senior Antonia Nugent and freshman Evelien Strijker defeated Nina Knavs and Breda Kovac, 8-3, at No. 1, while seniors Gulsah Esen and Seden Soyalp lost 8-1 against Emilija Arnaudovska and Iva Velkovska at No. 2.

Versus Arkansas State, Soyalp and Nugent teamed up to earn an 8-4 victory over Renee Branker and Rone van Wyk at No. 1. At flight two, freshman Jenny Cape and Strijker lost an 8-2 decision against Paula Chelminska and Maria Oprea.

The Blazers have completed the fall portion of their schedule and will next be in action on February 8 when they travel to open Conference USA play at Southern Miss.
