LUBBOCK, Texas - The University of Houston women's tennis team finished the weekend off at the ITA Regional Championships by advancing two doubles teams to the quarterfinals in the consolation draw.

The doubles teams of Leila Salek and Lucy Forward and Vicky Simpson and Jordan McCombs are set to compete tomorrow in the semifinal round. Both tandems advanced from the round of 32 on a bye week and then defeated their opponents in the round of 16.

In singles play No. 7 seeded Forward advanced two rounds to the round of 16 in the qualifying singles draw before getting knocked out by Narine Kazarova of North Texas 6-3, 6-2. Neila Starratt advanced from the round of 64 before bowing out in the round of 32 to Rabea Hartmann from Texas State 6-4, 6-1.

The quarter and semifinal doubles round will be played tomorrow, October 22 while the final round will take place on Tuesday the 23rd. For complete results visit www.TexasTech.com.
