ATHENS, Ga. - UAB senior Antonia Nugent and freshman Jenny Cape were eliminated in the first round of the ITA South Regional "A" doubles draw on Sunday at Georgia. Nugent was later forced to withdraw from the "A" singles consolation due to injury.

The lone UAB doubles duo competing at the event lost 8-1 to Cruz/Rai of South Florida.

Nugent was slated to play Tiffany Welcher of Alabama in the first round of the "A" singles consolation before being forced to withdraw.

Cape won her opening round singles match in the "B" singles draw on Saturday before losing in the round of 32 later in the day.

UAB will travel to compete in the Southern Miss Invitational next weekend.
