SWIMMER OF THE WEEK (12/7)
Tulane's Linda McEachrane posted three individual wins and helped four relay teams tally another quartet of victories as the Green Wave won the 2004 Giant Eagle Zips Invitational, hosted by University of Akron over the weekend. Following the 2003 Conference USA Freshman of the Year's performance, McEachrane was named C-USA Swimmer of the Week, her first league accolade of the 2004-05 season.

McEachrane set a school record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:04.31 time, and helped the 400-yard medley relay team post a school record with a mark of 3:55.32 (1:04.50 breaststroke split). The 2004 summer Olympian (representing Trinidad & Tobago in the 100-meter freestyle) swam the anchor leg of the 400-yard free relay (3:31.62/51.44 split) and 800-yard free relay (7:35.93/1:52.55 split), while also swimming the second leg of the 200-yard free relay (1:36.63/24.00 split). McEachrane's times in the 100 free and 800 free are the best in C-USA so far this season, while her 50 free and 100 breast times currently rank second.

DIVER OF THE WEEK (12/7)
Anna Kiess led Houston in a double dual meet against Kansas and Harvard over the weekend en route to claiming Dec. 7 C-USA Diver of the Week honors. With a pair of victories, Kiess earns her third 2004 C-USA weekly award.

Kiess finished as one of the top two performers during double dual meets this weekend, where the sophomore won the 1-meter springboard with 308.77 points and was the only diver to top the 300-point mark in that event. The sophomore placed second on the 3-meter springboard with 304.55 points, and was one of only two Cougars to win an individual event against the Jayhawks and Crimson.
