IRVING, Texas - SMU's Petra Klosova and Houston's Anastasia Pozdniakova claimed Swimmer and Diver of the Week honors, respectively, for their showings at the Art Adamson Invite. The Mustangs finished third in the loaded field, while the Houston divers notched 100 points.
East Carolina took seventh in the prestigious Nike Cup, while Marshall claimed second at the Western Kentucky Invite. Rice was also strong at the Indiana Invitational where no team scores were kept.
SWIMMER/DIVER of the Week (11/21)
SMU's Petra Klosova takes another Conference USA Swimmer of the Week award this week, after posting a career- or season-best time in every event she swam this past weekend at the Art Adamson Invitational at Texas A&M University. The No. 7 Mustangs finished third in a field that included No. 9 Texas A&M and No. 10 Michigan. Houston's Anastasia Pozdniakova is this week's Diver of the Week after finishing first on the one-meter and third on the three-meter as the Cougars also had a strong showing against the loaded field at the Art Adamson Invite.

PETRA KLOSOVA - SMU

Klosova posted a season- or career-best time in every event she swam this past weekend at the Art Adamson Invitational hosted by Texas A&M University. The sophomore took first place in the 100 free as she swam a career -best time of 48.84 and followed that up with a personal-best 1:47.49 in the 200 free for a fifth place finish. The Czech native also posted a season-best time in the 50 free with a time of 23.07, good for fourth place. Klosova swam the fourth and final leg of the 400 free relay that finished with a time of 3:18.36 and took second place. She led off the 800 free relay that placed second with a time of 7:14.64 and swam the fourth leg on the 400 medley relay that finished second (3:42.73). Klosova also anchored the 200 medley relay that finished second with a time of 1:41.34. In the 200 free relay, the team placed fourth (1:32.51) as she swam the third leg. All five relays finished with season-best times. The honor is the second of the season for Klosova (Oct. 31).
DIVER of the Week (11/21)
ANASTASIA POZDNIAKOVA - Houston

Pozdniakova was the Cougars' leading performer on the one- and three-meter springboards at the Art Adamson Invitational hosted by Texas A&M. The sophomore finished first on the one-meter springboard with 311.45 points to finish more than five points ahead of her closest competitor. She led all divers with 293.95 points in the one-meter prelims and continued her impressive performance in the finals. Pozdniaklova posted a third-place finish on the three-meter board with 311.00 points during the finals after leading all divers with 325.40 points in the three-meter prelims. The weekly award is the third of the season for the reigning C-USA Freshman Diver of the Year (Oct. 31 and Nov. 8) and the fifth of her career.

REBECCA PERRY - East Carolina
Perry made her NCAA "B" cut at the prestigious Nike Cup over the weekend in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.71. She finaled in both the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke to help the Lady Pirates to a seventh place finish.
MICHAELA SCELI - Marshall
Sceli, the Marshall record-holder in both the 100- and 200-yard breastroke events, was victorious in the 100-yard breastroke, while finishing second in the 200-yard breastroke at the Western Kentucky Hilltopper Invite over the weekend. Sceli, who posted the fastest time in the prelims (1:08.08), won the 100-yard breast by nearly two seconds with a time of 1:06.98. In the 200 breast, Sceli again recorded the fastest prelim time (2:26.43), only to finish second by .06 seconds (2:26.56).
CARLYANN MILLER - Houston
Rice sophomore Carlyann Miller was one of the stars at the three-day, seven team field (including two ranked foes) at Indiana University Invitational over the weekend. The sprinter from Fort Gibson, Okla., posted two season-best times and one career-best mark with some of the league's top performances this year. Miller was second out of a field of 46 entrants in the 200-yard freestyle with a career-best 1:50.73. She was third out of 55 entries in the 100-freestyle with a season-best 51.62. Miller was also sixth out of 64 swimmers in the 50-free with a time of 24.00. In swimming on three relays, Miller logged a 1:50.31 split as the anchor leg of Owls' second place 800-free relay (7:30.27). She had a 51.04 split as the third leg of the 400-free relay that finished third. Miller was the lead swimmer on the 200-free relay that took fourth.
KRSITIN SCHILD - SMU
Competed in the diving events at the Art Adamson Invitational this past weekend hosted by Texas A&M... Placed eighth off the three meter board with a mark of 259.10 and placed fifth on the platform with a score of 218.00.
